Loved the vibe! Such a cool rustic spot. We had a blast staying at the Hitching Post Motel! The rustic vibe is exactly what we were looking for. Pro-tip: Head into nearby Pemberton for dinner as there are some great spots there, and it’s just a few minutes away. This is a gem in the Pemberton valley and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
A friend & i brought our 4 kids to snowboard at whistler. We stayed 3 nights at the Hitching Post & were really happy with everything about our stay. The communication & service was great from the start. Always kind, generous & clear. The rooms are simple, tidy & sweet. Comfortable beds & nice bedding. It was cold when we were here & the heaters worked great. Kitchen has all the basics & when we needed something extra, the staff was kind & quick about getting us what we needed. We loved leaving whistler behind & driving to & from Mt Curry. Beautiful views, great road conditions, no traffic & great small town vibes. Our 2 rooms were really affordable which made this trip possible for our families. We will definitely stay here again.
We have stayed here now a couple times over the past few weeks for quick stop overs. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, though it is a little older - The beds are comfy, the rooms are well equipped, and are tidy & clean.
The Hitching Post property is quite nice, with several chairs on the grass for gathering and nice grounds to walk on. Other guests were quite friendly and it was nice to speak with other travelers (or not). The room, while dated, was clean and provided everything needed and helpful, like a frig and microwave. A larger person may be uncomfortable in the bathroom as the toilet and vanity are quite close together. Nights were very quiet. The town of Pemberton is the quintessential small town, offering lots of coffee and dining spots. A grocery store stocks everything you may need. We really enjoyed pizza from Backcountry Pizza and the Thai at Saneh Thai was REALLY good, with fresh veggies. We appreciated the check-in text and lockbox access to the room key.
Don’t let the word motel or the older reviews deter you - we had a fantastic experience staying here as a stopping point between Whistler and Joffree Lake/ Lillooet :) The contactless check in process worked out perfectly as we spent the day hiking and ATVing in Whistler and didn’t get in until 10 PM. The room itself, while not a 5 star hotel by any means, is modern, clean, and well maintained. You can tell they renovated it and put in a lot of thought into it :) Water pressure was nice after a long day, the bed is huge and comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need from a fridge to a microwave to pans and pots. To top it all off, Melanie the manager was kind and welcoming and talked with us on our way out. Honestly, I would stay here again in a heartbeat over the other bigger accommodations in town!! Not just for the value, but for the humanness and the intentionality from the people who run this place
We had a wonderful stay at The Hitching Post when we stopped for a last-minute overnight a couple of weeks ago. They provided a shuttle to the airport for us both ways with little notice, which was much appreciated! The room was clean and spacious and had a nice, well-stocked kitchenette. There is also a nice area outside to relax. We appreciated the hospitality of the new owners very much! The Thai restaurant within walking distance was also an added bonus.
I really enjoyed our stay here! We got in at 10:00 PM and left the next morning at 10:00 am so it was a quick stop. Check in was very easy, we had a text with info and code to the lock box. There was tons of parking and it’s easy to find off the main road. It’s a nice room! It’s a 2-star hotel but it’s very clean (including the bathroom) , the bed was comfy, the water pressure was great for the shower, it’s Everything we could need! I’d stay again
We stayed in the little cabin. It was spotless and spacious. Perfect for my family of 4. The room also come with a kettle and tea. The staff were very helpful and friendly. This motel is a great place for families.
